Information We Collect

• Account details you provide: name, email, role, department, level, WhatsApp or phone number, student email and office address.
• Content you post: listings, photos, tutor bios and reports you file.
• Auth and technical data handled by Supabase Auth when you sign in or sign up.

How We Use Information

• To run the platform and show listings, profiles and search results.
• To let other users reach you (for example through WhatsApp enquiries).
• To verify agent identities and physically inspect apartment/hostel listings.
• To review reports, moderate content and keep the platform safe.
• To improve reliability, fix bugs and understand aggregate usage.
• To comply with legal obligations.

Sharing & Disclosure

Your public profile and listings are visible to other users by design. Enquiries such as WhatsApp messages happen directly between users and are not stored by us beyond what is needed to match requests.

We share data only with the infrastructure providers that run UniHubs — Supabase (database, auth and storage) and our hosting provider — solely to deliver the service. We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect users from harm.

Data Retention

We keep account data while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards where needed for fraud prevention, dispute resolution and legal obligations. You may ask us to delete your account and associated personal data at any time. Aggregated, anonymised statistics may be kept indefinitely and cannot be linked back to you.

Your Rights

• Access and correct the data we hold about you from your profile.
• Delete your account and request deletion of associated personal data.
• Object to or restrict certain processing where applicable law allows.
• Withdraw consent at any time by stopping use of the service or closing your account.
• Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.

Cookies & Local Storage

UniHubs keeps you signed in using browser storage managed by Supabase Auth, and uses small amounts of local storage for form drafts and interface preferences. We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking or third-party analytics pixels.

Third-Party Services

UniHubs links out to WhatsApp for enquiries and may link to external sites referenced in listings. Those services operate under their own privacy policies, which we do not control. Review them before sharing information.

Security

We protect your data with industry-standard measures — HTTPS in transit, row-level security in the database, and role-based access for administrative tools. No system is perfectly secure, so use a strong password and tell us about suspicious activity right away.

Children's Privacy

UniHubs is aimed at university students and campus stakeholders. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the service evolves. The updated date at the top shows when it last changed, and material changes will be highlighted on this page.
